Hey lallous,

The great thing about the system is that it's a system. While photoreading is a very integral part of that system, the other parts can be used on their own for various applications (even besides reading...a fixed point of a attention helps peripheral vision, and stating a purpose mentally before many activities avoids that pause of "What am I doing right now?"). For a one page or two page article, I think Andy said that you're probably okay just previewing and the super-reading and dipping afterwards, sans PReading. (If you didn't get the course yet, these terms will become second nature).

As far as fast reading technique, there are ways to "tweak" your reading speed, though in actuality it's really just breaking "bad" reading habits. As Andy pointed out, sub-vocalisation is a big one, one I remember from the Evelyn Woods program (they also had a different name for Andy's Super Ultra Mega Double-Decker Hyper Fast Hand of Sonic Boom Death Move, but it was hardly as exciting).

I guess, to sum it all up:

1) You don't have to PR a one page article.
2) You don't necessarily have to fast read it either...you could just preview and superread and dip it (completely different from fast reading).
3) Or you could do what I'm starting to do and just Skitter it (usually on articles that aren't so hot, but have facts you'd like to throw at people when they aren't looking).

All these terms come with the course.

PS - Andy, that tape you suggested getting on another message (the free tape of that 6 min. news clip) just came in. You're right, the expression that guy makes was pretty funny. It also made me feel better.
PPS - Is there a way to put an automatic signature on posts?
PPPS - Just out of curiosity...what's the difference between a junior member and a member?
