I really appreciate your comments and thank you accordingly. I totally agree with your observation regarding the proper characterization of the reading enhancement I am seeking. The only reason I phrased it in terms of and "increase of 30 fold" is because my current reading/comprehension speed averages around 350 wpm. Thus, I will henceforth identify my reading enhancement goal as the ability to read and comprehend (75-80%) at a rate just over 10,000 words per minute.
I was particularly intrigued by your comment concerning what I should expect to see from someone who claims to have "mastered" PhotoReading. Somewhat surprisingly, you warned me not expect that person to read at a rate of 12,000 (much less 25,000) words per minute, but someone who will "photofocus, and go through a book, then do a lot of activation procedures." I assume from your statement, however, that the entire process of photoreading, postviewing, speedreading, and any other "activation procedures" will consume a period of time that will be equal to (or less than) a defined number of minutes which can be determined by dividing the total number of words read by 12,000.
I can easily see that the "photoreading" portion of the exercise may only require a fraction of the total amount of time needed to fully "activate" and implement the comprehension and recall process. But in the final analysis, it seems to me that 12,000 (or 25,000) words per minute means just that, namely, the ability to read, comprehend and recall the meaning of printed words at a rate equal to 12,000 (or 25,000) words per minute.
Do you agree with that assessment, or have I misconstrued the reading skill of someone who has truly "mastered" the PhotoReading system taught by PLS?
