The photoreading step is only to mentally photograph the pages into your memory. When you go back and actviate the pages may not look familiar to your concious mind but your "other than concious mind" has seen it already. Activation is when the brain uses the neural connections it made (between the photoreading and activation steps)to bring the information from the "other than concious mind" to your concious mind. So if the material doesn't look familiar when you activate, don't be disappointed. It's already in your brain, you just don't know it yet. And once you are using the system for a while, you probably will eventually see that after the photoreading step, the material will start to look familiar upon first activation. Your brain just has to adjust.
