I think you can use PRing for pleasure reading, but it's different. Not better or worse, just different.
See, I think a better term for PRing would be "text activation". "I don't read anymore, I do something called text activation." Because it's really not comparable to reading anymore. It's completely different.
So sometimes I use it for pleasure reading, sometimes I don't. I've also used it on LOTR, but it's because I had a class on it and we were moving pretty fast (IS THAT COOL OR WHAT! I HAD A CLASS ON TOLKIEN! We had to read The Hobbit and LOTR and do papers on it...for extra credit, we could speak in old english...much much harder than it sounds).

I've also regular read LOTR. Liked it equally as much (okay...maybe a <em>little</em> more =)). I agree that PRing is better for other things, but you <em>can</em> use it on pleasure stuff.
