What I do is if I have the need or desire to do more than 45 min to 1 hour of activating I just switch to Rapid Reading and skim over what I don't care about. At that point it's pretty clear where and what the important info is and you can vary your speed from lightening fast to really slow and still beat your old time. Presently my PR time is very close to my old Speedreading time but the amount I learn and remember is completely uncomparable. It's like night and day.

Dana ,
How to make the text to look familiar to me at the first activation pass? I mean how hard should i practice?

Also , what should i expect after the 1st pass? Know the structure of the book quite well or the structure of the book is supposed to be known well after previewing step?

another thing is ... is activation really bring the information back from the subconcious mind? Or it's just a tool for getting into the mainpoint quickly because the inner mind know what's important?

How much familiarity? Most likely not much of any during your first couple of activation passes.

For example....let's use a book that would require 10 hours for you to fully comprehend with good-old regular reading.

A beginning PhotoReader will achieve the same comprehension within 3 hours or less. Now, you may go 2 hours and 59 minutes feeling like you are getting absolutely nothing from the book. But then, all of the sudden the entire book "gels" and you fully comprehend it.

The more books you PhotoRead and activate fully, the less and less time it will take to reach the "gel" point.

Well , i don't want familiarity right now since i'm an absolute beginner. I meant for intermediate or advanced photoreader (with a 1 year of experience) is it possible to find the material to be very familiar to me like i've read this book before.

The more books you PhotoRead and fully activate, the faster you will be able to experience the feeling of "familiarity" while activating.

In your first activation pass, expect you will spend 30 minutes doing all of the activation techniques...craft several Mind Probing questions, SuperRead & Dip or Skitter & Dip throughout the book cover-to-cover, and put a layer of branches on your Mind Map at the end.

After you Mind Map, then notice what has started coming together for you about the book in your conscious mind.

Thanks Dana. I have some additional questions.

1) As a beginner (not so absolute beginner). Can i really read 3x faster * immediately * if i follow your instruction (i also have the course)? I'm not dare to try it yet but i have knowledge on how to do it right.

2) Am i supposed to have additional knowledge which isn't acquired through dipping flashing in my concious mind magically? isn't all information gained from dipping?

3) What about intuition and hunches? Could you give me some advice about these two most difficult things in activation ?

thanks.

When you do the Prepare and Preview steps, you should see your speed easily double, if not triple.

Flash Magically? It might. But, most likely not until you've spent time manually activating in the book. Then, your conscious mind has new neuro pathways in place to "trigger up" additional information as you have a need for it.

The best way to boost your intuition and hunches is, to craft Mind Probing questions in your own words, using the key words and phrases you wrote down during Preview before each 30-minute activation pass.
