Try going over the material several times depending on how long it is. If it is short reading consider going over it in 10 minute step. Do that about 5 or 6 times and see if that helps. Just pretend your comprehension is an onion you have to go layer by layer to get to the core. And don't give up. Oh and if you are having trouble with sub-vocalization try counting from 1 to 10 in your head while you read it will speed regular reading by 2 or 3 times. Hope that helps.
