I like the eyes open and slowly close method you just mentioned...awesome =)

Right, there are two eye positions of note.

Anna Wise, the queen of EEG, wrote in her book, The High Performance Mind that looking straight up produced immediate increase in alpha waves and trying to look at the center of your forehead produced immeidate theta waves.

Another way of getting into theta is using thetagraghs or 3-d images. They enhance the size and strengh of your brain neurons making you smarter and more creative also. Just Stare at them for five minutes a day.

I also use the "Three Finger" anchor trigger borrowed from The Silva Mind Control Method. So now when I close my eyes and touch the tips of my thumb and first two fingers together, I obtain the same results as I would if I rolled my eyes upwards towards the ceiling.
