Alright!! I am working on tape 3 and still cannot play the dictionary game. I am not sure if I am photofocusing correctly. I have a lazy eye and trying to see through the dictionary and the floor. Am I doing something wrong? I am confused. Should I be seeing some progress at this point?

kade,

Believe it or not, it's normal. It took me a couple of months, to get the dictionary game down....You knew it was a game not a task, right? Continue on in the course. I made the mistake that because I "failed" at the dictionary game, I could not pr. It is a very poor way of overcoming any obstacle.

Look at it this way, some find trigonometry easier than geometry. Others find calculus easier to 'get' than linear algebra. But it is all math. Just because you find the dictionary game difficult does not mean you can't pr a book. They are both pr. Continue on with the course as if you are successfull (because you are). Come back to the dictionary game from time to time. In time, it will become second nature.

I don't remember how much context they put the dictionary game into, but it's an example of spontanious activation.

Now, spontanious activation is uncannny, fairly uncommon, and not really the point of PhotoReading. I think someone said the best way to train for spontanious activation is to photoread about five books a day, and activate at least one of them. (Leaving the other four in the other-than-conscious mind's other-than-conscious memory). After a month, I think it was, spontanious activation should be more common. After all, there's a lot more to spontaniously activate.

What helped me in spontanious activation was actually discussing the book. There may be a book-of-the-month club you can join up with. There might even be a discussion program on state or local public radio.

The IRC group I'm in will be discussing "The Book of Lilith" by Barbara Black Kultov on March 26th. If you're interested, shoot me a mail at admin@lylyth.org, and I'll give you the details.
