i really hate feeling this way but i'm feeling a bit discourage after going through tape 1 and 2...
i tried the dictionary part and didn't get a single word... moved on to tape 2 and felt burdened by all those techniques u have to remember such as the tangerine. can anyone please explain the tangerine part more and the super reading! okay i'm imagining the tangerine on the back of my head with erect body, whats its purpose? with speed reading, are u going down the column and looking at words line by line or just ones that attract ur attention?

i hope to continue on and find encouragement in this board!
i've only had this for 2 days and yes i believe i'm expecting too much! i need to slow down hahaha.

Don't feel discouraged. Learning a skill takes time, and put it this way: if you learn PRing, the time you'll save will more than make up for it.

Don't worry about the dictionary game. It's a fun little demonstration, but if it doesn't work, don't go crazy over it. Lots of people have problem with the dictionary game and still do fine with PRing.

The tangerine technique's purpose is twofold:
1) Put you in the accelerated learning state.
2) Open your field of vision.
There may be more reasons, but I see these two as the most important. Just be sure to stay relaxed.

Remember, it's super reading, not speedreading. Just clarifying so that if you post in the future, people won't go crazy on you for it.

When you super read in general, you're just going down the column. If you get a feeling that a word is important all of a sudden and you read around it, you are now "dipping". These words that "attract your attention" are doing so because your subconscious mind is telling you that it is in accord with the purpose you stated (you stated a purpose, right?). You'll eventually fine tune this skill (knowing when to dip) with practice.

Don't give up. Practice makes perfect, and soon you won't be able to recollect how you didn't remember all the steps by heart.

All the best.

Hi Ramon,

Regarding SReading, when you go down the center of each page, are you supposed to see a) all the words, b) a few words because you are focusing, c) no particular word because you're photofocusing and you're expecting a hunch?

Thanks.

My interpretation was "c", no word in particular, but you're not really photofocusing for the super reading, it's all Accelerated Learning State (the tangerine thing).

I could be wrong - I've sometimes suspected my super reading technique to be less efficient than I'd like, and I usually have to compensate with another pass.

Razord,

thanks for encouragement!
oh hehe i didn't notice at all that i typed in "speed reading" instead of super reading ^_^. i apologize to all haha

another question of mine for the blip page technique; it says on the book to look over the top of the book to focus ur field of vision beyond it kind of like the cocktail weenie effect... how far or what lenght are u suppose to keep ur eyes leveled away from the top of the book?

When looking right beyond the top of the book to get the blip page, you'll wanna keep your hard focus out about a foot or so. Give your awareness to the outside white margins while you flip.
