Jeff,
Reading your post made me laugh a bit, particularly about the drill instructor. I bet that when Paul was first putting together this course, the drill instructor approach was the last thing on his mind. I wasn't laughing at you but rather because I have similar thoughts about this course. I'm used to a very fast paced high stress life. I'm conservative and don't necessarily look to kindly on "new age gobbledygook". That said, my mind is still open to new ideas, despite what some people think of conservatives. I do believe that Humans are limited, but I don't believe we are close to those limits. I do believe that Photoreading is possible, although like you, I have yet to get it to work for me. I do believe that there are many tools and techniques that can be learned that can better my life, providing they don't go against my religious convictions.
So with all that in mind, I decided that "when in Rome .....". So I'm just trying to go with the flow as best I can. I have to put my trust in Paul and the folks at Learning Strategies that they put this course together the best they new how, given the research and evidence available. Before I purchased this course, I monitored this forum and it's obvious that the people who are successful with Photoreading are open the ideas presented in the class. I'm still having trouble taking some of the things seriously, such as putting an imaginary tangerine on my head. But I have an understanding of the reasons behind it and I'm gonna give it my best shot.
I'm glad you're over your illness and you're getting your life back. I wish you success with Photoreading, and any other endeavor you may try. Is that wishy washy enough for you or would you rather GET UP OFF YOUR A** YOU MAGGOT AND GET INTO THE ACCELERATIVE LEARNING STATE RIGHT NOW AND PHOTOREAD TEN BOOKS A DAY. AND NONE OF THOSE WIMPY LITTLE BOOKS WITH PICTURES, ONLY BIG MANLY BOOKS WILL DO WITH REALLY SMALL TYPEFACE. DO YOU HEAR ME?? NOW GET TO WORK.
Michael
