"So with all that in mind, I decided that "when in Rome .....". So I'm just trying to go with the flow as best I can."
Me too. The problem, like I said, is that sometimes it's spread on so thick it's hard for me.
For example 3..2 blah-blah you're relaxed in your quiet place happy-happy. Ok, I'm with the program here: I'm 10 years old, on vacation at the beach, it's 5 am and I'm at the inlet fishing. There's not much light out, and it's nice and quiet (except for seashore noises) because all the other pansy fishermen are too lazy to pull themselves out of bed until the sun rises. I'm happy-happy, as told to be by my drill instructer. :-)
..1 "picture a flower". Ok, that just blew it for me. A flower? A flower is not an image that means much of anything to me (other than perhaps a slight amount of stress that I've forgotten something). Why a flower? Dang, and I had it too...I really was all good and ready.
"GET UP OFF YOUR A** YOU MAGGOT AND GET INTO THE ACCELERATIVE LEARNING STATE RIGHT NOW AND PHOTOREAD TEN BOOKS A DAY. AND NONE OF THOSE WIMPY LITTLE BOOKS WITH PICTURES, ONLY BIG MANLY BOOKS WILL DO WITH REALLY SMALL TYPEFACE. DO YOU HEAR ME?? NOW GET TO WORK."
YES SERGEANT!

P.S. I tend to use the drill sergeant when I find myself drifting. I can never pay much attention in class, so that image helps me to refocus on the tapes when my mind goes other places.
