Forums IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ PhotoReading, Memory Optimizer Speed Reading as Intro to PR?

Just a quick question for those of you that are PR'ing successfully:

Did you have training in speed reading prior to PR'ing, or was PR your first introduction to "faster-than-normal" reading? I just finished the PR book and am beginning to practice, but still seem a little overwhelmed. Just wondering if prior knowledge of speed reading helps in the leap to PR....

I've read a couple speed-reading books but never applied the methods. I've always been faster than average at reading, so I never felt much need to read faster

It can be overwhelming but the key concept of this course is LAYERING. Everything is about it ..

I did the mega speed reading a couple of years ago and if anything I was even slower after the course than before.

Unlike a speed reading course where you see yourself reading faster straight away (and watched it fade away cause it was too much bother). The PRWMS builds up over time... you get progressively faster with a lot less effort. No you don't need to do a speed reading course.

I have read many speed reading books, before pr. and I was already a fast reader (3000 wpm naturally) and it slowed my down dramatically, its just too much of a bother.

That's quite impressive, Mastermind! I'm about 450-600WPM without using the PR techniques.

PhotoReading was the first ever thing I ever learned about faster than normal reading, and that is for a purpose. Mostly because I would run into things all the time that had to do with speed reading courses, and I even remember that one of my elementary school teachers taught several methods on speed reading.

After seeing all kinds of things, many of them looks the same. The appeal to PR that brought me to it was first the infomercial, and discovering that you can eventually reach those speeds. Quite incredible. The thing that also has made me continue to want to learn the system is the benefits of the PhotoReading step, spontaneous activation, and how it will happen more and more as time goes on.

The great thing, however, was Pete commenting on the system in even one of the earlier posts. "Speed reading courses often offer three times faster. But where as that's where they can get you, that's where the system starts!"

After learning this system, there is no other method you really need.
