Forums IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ PhotoReading, Memory Optimizer Whoa just tried the dictionary game and it works

This is amazing, I photoread 3 letters in the dictionary, and after I did, I was told to let anyword come to my mind. Nothing happened so I picked a word, "nest". I pictured this word on the left page first column, on top, like the 3rd or 4th word and WHOAA, it was the 3rd word, I couldn't beleive it. Man this is amazing. I know it doesn't sound like much to some of you expert photoreaders out there, but I am just starting. This feels great. Anyone else wanna share stories like these?

amazing as it may be, most of these "experts" didnt do nearly as good as you on their first try. i think you have a good connection to your inner mind, youll probably learn how to photoread fast, and get better at it in no time. some people have different minds, yours seems to be good for photoreading. keep going, it only gets better. i cant get the dictionary game to work for me as well as i would like it to. im going back to it after a few months to see how much ive improved.

PR will be a blast for you because the dictionary is by far the hardest book you'll ever have to PR!

You'll have no trouble mastering this at all. Give yourself a pat on the back because you're one of the naturals at PR.

And hey, Neo - good thing you kept in that word "some" of these experts. . .I was about to get a little iRrItAtEd.

I did alright for the first three words then I kept coming up with words that weren't in the dictionary. After 3 successive words that weren't in the book I hoicked it over my shoulder and walked out of the room to get myself a drink (water). When I found it again a couple of weeks later I picked another 2 words that weren't in the book. Now I have it here by the computer it serves as a reminder. When I need to look up a word I get up and go across the room and get it from the macquarie dictionary.

I learnt a valuble lesson there. When I first got the book I wondered whether I shouldn't just throw it in the bin and find another dictionary. I thought it looks kinda useless (bit thin for a english language dictionary) and being american spelling... Ah well its only a game I thought. I laughed when I found out that every 5th word was removed from the book. How the mind loves to live up to your expectations

The dictionary was a 'student's' dictionary, and yeah, they are kind of thin. Try using a more 'standard' dictionary. Dictionaries that come with encyclopedias like the World Book Dictionary--2 volumes--are good for the exercises.

btw, whats wrong with American spelling?

This is a dictionary where the word definition is not in it! It's on the cover, but if you don't know what it means, don't bother to look it up, because you'll be disappointed.

I think I remember Pete or Paul saying that some of the words were not in the dictionary because the publisher said he did not have room for them in the dictionary.
So, in effect, this dictionary is useless.

It was the edited dictionary that was provided with the course and yes every 5th word was removed, it seems to make it fit. That info is posted on the forum. Thats why it's a dictionary without a tree in it.

RE American spelling... I use Australian spelling that's why I use the Macquarie Dictionary.

For the record the first 3 words I picked... the page number, column and postition correctly, so I'm glad the following words weren't in the book. I haven't bothered playing that game again since I've found other interesting mind games to play.
