It has always been my understanding that your conscious mind (left brain) is your logic which is how our mind sees numbers and letters, and our sub-conscious is our emotions and visualizations and can't comprehend numbers and letters. This makes photoreading seem hard to do but I do know that it has to do with using the whole mind not just one or the other so it kindof makes sense. A while back I heard on the radio that there was a man who won $500,000 in the lottery bc he played lottery numbers he saw in a dream. The man was so sure that they were the winning numbers that he bought many tickets of the same numbers and he won and all his winnings totaled $500,000. But how is this possible, dreams are of course subconscious but yet he saw numbers which is supposed to be impossible for the right brain, can someone explain this to me?

im not sure that the right brain is the subconcious... i think the right brain is just the creative. i dont think the subconcious is limited to either side of the brain... lets get an expert to explain it.

That is not nessesarily true (Bryan) about the right brain not being able to process #s and letters. If you remember your dreams you are talking in your dreams, talking is make up of sounds caused by letters (sounds desperate, I know).

According to this story about the lottery, it is reasonable to draw the conclusion that you do not think in just left and right sides, but you can also use both sides conjegated.

Basically, I think, his logic side was thinking lottery #s and his creative brain was generating the lottery numbers.

I try to abstain from calling it the 'sub'-consious, as do many people on this board, because it raises feelings of mystery and lack of control.

Yeah that makes sense about the lottery numbers but talking being letters isn't really accurate, illiterate can still talk, talking has nothing to do with written words unless you mentally picture words and sentences you want to say, I usually don't do that.

Off the topic a little, but because a left handed person thinks in his/her right mind. Would this make a left handed person more able to PR?

The division between conscious and other than conscious (I prefer to say this instead of "subconscious", it has no negative implication... ) is not the same as division between left and right brain hemispheres.

People do have images, mind chatter, feelings, all of that both in their conscious mind and other than conscious mind. So, both brain hemispheres function outside consciousness.

While PRing you use your both hemispheres in cooperation. PRing actually improves your everyday thinking by increasing the cooperation. -purjo

Um... I read in my dreams all the time...

In order for him to perceive the numbers it can't be from 'his' subconscious it must come from what is called the collective [un]conscious or the superconscious.

I don't think you just use your right brain when dreaming, although it's the dominating part.

One word that is overlooked when discussing brain functioning is the word PREDOMINANTLY.

Both hemispheres of the brain are actually capable of logic or emotions. As with our limbs we have a predominant side that does certain functioning. If necessary the other can and will take over the necessary task.

Dreams are communications from the mind. Our minds are said to form some 60,000 thoughts a day and yes we even daydream. Now I'll ask a question in a different form.

Why should be be capable of less in our dreams than we are in our waking state... we still have the same brain when we go to sleep?
