Greetings people,
I have been learning how to photo read for the past few days now. Due to the fact that I am teaching myself I am unclear on a few things. I have gone through many strings and looked at many questions and many answers. I have the steps down and I beleive that I have developed the ability to relax myself to the point which is needed to PR. I set my goals and I am able to see the "blip page". My question deals with recalling this stored information. (which seems to be quite a common topic, expressed by many people) I believe that initial exspections were too great, so I cut my PR sessions down to 3-5 minute sessions. I also started setting clearer goals for myself, now I am to the point where I am recieving small fragments of information from my subconsious mind. Is it common to recieve only small bits of information from PRing at first? Another question is, how do you know when you are approaching the theta state. I believe that I am PRing correctly only because I have come down with a slight case of photoreading syndrom, which leaves me slightly lightheaded and very drowsy. My final question is, how long did it take before you were able to cultivate this ablility to the point which allows you to recall information easily? Hmm, I do have one more question, (even though I said the last one was my fianal one) how do you set goals for reading a book for pleasure, such as a fiction novel or a fantasy book?
Thanks
Oh and forgive the slopy gramer and spelling mistakes, I would do a better job except I worn out form a day of mental workout. (learing how to PR)

After having PR'ed the book and letting it rest for a day or at the least 20 minutes for out minds to process. We go back to our trigger words and use activation techniques of superreading and dipping. This is the fastest and most reliable for getting the information out of the book.

Form a question in your mind and allow yourself to be drawn to the pages of the book that help to clarify the questions, doing that for about 20 minutes then we write/draw onto mindmaps the information we gathered. We keep building from there. The thing is we often know the answers but have difficulty in being consciously aware of them when we want to. So superreading and dipping is a fast forward tool for the mind.

To make sure your activation is successful make sure you write down the trigger words during the preview stage. These help your conscious mind know what you are photoreadng for and when it comes to activation you'll have good questions to find the answers for.

Re theta state, to be perfectly blunt. As a beginning photoreader you do not want to be in that state in relation to photoreading. Theta is associated with inspiration, intuition etc. Most people are unable to remember the stuff they learnt while in that level of awareness... initally. It can be learnt, meditation is a good way to learn. The only true way to know is through biofeedback. Suffice to say if you are well and truely relaxed probably have some theta waves kicking in.

If you follow the proceedure of counting down to enter the accelerative learning state you'll find yourself functioning at the optimum level for photoreading. Another technique you might like to try is counting down from 10 to 1 imagine yourself going down in an elevator, sitting in a comfy chair watching the numbers on the elevator screen and hearing the voice say the number and word relax for each number as you count down. See it, hear it and feel it as best you can, know that you are entering a deeper level of mind. I don't know if you'll achieve theta but I can assure you that you will reach your optimal accelerated learning state the first time you try it.

It doesn't matter what brainwaves you produce when you photoread as long as you are able to relax you have achieved *your* personal best learning state. Trust that it gets even better with experience.

Alex

Thanks you very much for your useful advice Alex.

I did have an interesting PR session last night. While I was PRing, I noticed that the world around then book was fuzzy, like there was a cloud like mist surrounding the book. This mist also seemed to sparkle a little, like it had stars in it. Is this "normal" while PRing?

and after I was done reading I felt a euphoric sensation hanging over my head, like I was totaly at peace with myself and the world around me.

Seemingly unsual stuff can happen while photoreading. Enjoy it it doesn't always happen, justdon't let it sidetrack you .

The high you've felt afterwards is pretty common. We can all experience it to varying degrees... if we chose to notice it, after a while we might forget to notice but it still happens.

When I relax as much as I can, I seem to come out of it whenever I go to pick up the book I am going to read. I have a very active mind and it is hard for me to maintain any level of awareness. No matter how much or how little.

Warrior,

I also have a very active mind and I have no problem with photoreading. Your beliefs will make things difficult for you, you are always as relaxed as you choose to be. Just remember to put your focus on the back of your head while photoreading. It works
