I use imagestreaming in the following way:
1) PR book.
2) Relax and clear mind.
3) Note to myself any images that pop in my head (it's really that simple.)
It works pretty well. I PR'd Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, and tried image streaming. Some of the images I got were:
1) The Rockies.
2) My old logic teacher.
3) A comic I had drawn about Descartes.
4) The emblem he uses throughout the book.
What was intersting was I got very few images about motorcycles or tools or even anything much zen related. I figured, "okay, I did something wrong."
But I didn't!
The book is primarily about a professor who discusses the relevance of logic to Quality, noting how in the world of logic and reason, it's hard to see where quality (basically if something is good or bad) comes in. The whole book is basically a chat ("Chautauqua" he calls them") about logic and stuff.
This helps because when you activate this is what happens:
1) Super read and Dip: You get a stronger feeling to dip, and when you see that the text you are dipping into is relevant to the images you streamed, it builds confidence and a "correct" feeling from the association between your conscious and other than conscious mind. Your ability to dip correctly will increase.
2) Rapid reading: You blaze over the text as you reactivate the right parts with a sense of familiarity. The Flow state is awesome when you are activating a section you "saw coming".
Image streaming is highly recommended, if only for the fact that at some point you may get as good as Pete and achieve consistent spontaneous activation. =)
