I'd found this interesting clip from Rex Sikes site and I believe Carolyn Sikes sums it up rather nicely regarding Paraliminals.

"Double induction is where you wear headphones and hear two or more voices saying different things. The script in your right ear is designed to give your left brain a workout and the left ear script works the right hemisphere. Your conscious mind usually becomes confused listening to the two voices and hence, either shuts down (goes into trance, thinks about something else, daydreams, sleeps, etc.) or shuts out one voice and listens to the other voice. This confusion ensures that all or part of the positive messages reach your unconscious mind where there is less resistance and opportunity for programming in new feelings, ideas and subsequently/eventually new behaviors"

That sounds about right Michael. Incidentally, do the Sikes' Attitude Activator work the same way?
Interestingly, I also recently found Nightingale Conant selling a Hypno-Peripheral Processing program by Dr. Lloyd Glauberman that sounds exactly like our paraliminals.

Dr. Lloyd Glauberman HPP tapes are a little harder on the head then the paraliminal tapes. I get a bit of a headache when I listen to HPP tapes. They are utilize Eriksonian Hypnosis and have been around for a long time.
