I have been using dry highlighters for some years now. They are the best for activating. I make very quick scans and if something catches my eye, i quickly highlight it. These pencils are easy to carry around and you never have to worry about them drying out or anything like that.

I have wooden ones that i sharpen w/ a penknife or any blade handy. A sharpener is no good for many reasons.

They come in different colors and this can also be used creatively for aiding in activating. Say i highlight something that is important. Then i suddenly find a better description. I will use two colors on top of each other. To me this says it's more important than just a plain color.

I do this before MMing stuff b/c i find i MM faster as a result of doing this. I have pencil highlighters everywhere

good idea, ill look into getting one to try it out. it makes sense that it enforces the activation more, because it helps in normal note taking to write things down because it uses many senses(reading, writing, and... uh thinking i guess) so highlighting things probably makes you not only read over it when it catches your eye, then you scan as you highlight it. ill try this out. cool

A great mindmap tool are those pens that are ONE pen but have anywhere from four to 10 colors in it, activated with different buttons.

I get mine from Levengers. I noticed recently that they are pushing another highlighter that looks only ok to me. I like the pencils for many reasons.

I did a search and noticed that there's a company in the UK that has lots of color pencil highlighters. It seems that Staples should sell them in the US.

I have a pretty good supply so i've not had to buy any recently. The ones i have are made in Germany.

Ramon, if that multi-colored pen is thick in any way, then i could never use it. The nicest pens i've used so far are called FLIRT from Switzerland. They have the ability to be a thin or thick line and are outrageous colors like i've not seen in the US stores. You'd not believe how many types of color pens i've gone thru since learning MMing.

Ramon, thanks for posting the pic It looks like a good pen. I'm going to give it a try because i'm not too fond of travelling around w/ all my Flirts The pencil highlighters i don't mind b/c i like the feel of wood. Thanks for the tip, or, make that, many tips in ONE

Listen--my MMs are very messy. I have no time to make them nice. You'd be shocked at how messy they are, but i like'em. But i do feel like i have it down. However, it took going for that MCP certification a couple years ago to make me disciplined enuff to really apply it.

Students who have exams to pass are where it's at for PhRing, activation, MMing & etc. Figure this: There are so many dramatic and exciting things to do during your teens & twenties, that it's a waste of time to spend it studying all the time.

I noticed in the H. Lorrayne book on memory that when he was in the army WWII---they had to learn Morse Code. The army had allotted 3 months to learn it. Harry told the sargent that he could teach it to the guys in a couple hours. The sargent yelled at Harry: And What would i do w/ them for the rest of the 3 months &%$#$#!!!!

So, since you're not in the army, why not do it faster
