I find photoreading just as valid for pleasure reading. I love being able to enjoy a book from cover to cover and enjoy it even more since I add the photoreading stage... I can superread and dip the slow bits cause inwardly I already know what is there and get really into detail by slowing down.
Some books that I had read twice by regular reading I recently photoread and then rapid read just for the heck of it. I was amazed at how much more detail I picked up... how much of the important stuff I had missed (the clues) during my regular reading and yet covered all that plus what I missed in 1/6 the time it took me to read the books orginally.
I'll not read a book without photoreading it first thats for sure. Whether for study or just enjoyment. I like it that my inner mind was able to slow me for some important information and I had no way of consciously knowing that I missed this information on my first 2 readings and that was reading every single word.
