I purchased the book a few months ago. I have been trying to use the tecniques for studying complex technical material. (network engineering books) a few questions.

1. page-flipping. how fast?

2. how often should i repeat the process for any one book?

3. best way to prep for a technical exam/interview?

Hi Bip, welcome to the forum.

1. Page flipping - During the PR step, you're flipping pretty fast, about a page a second. What you're looking for is, I think, is fast as possible without sacrificing your accelerated learning state, which is focused but relaxed.

2. Repetition - Which step? The PR step only really needs to be done once, but I usually throw in 6 or 7 photoflip passes afterwards. If you mean the activation step and you're just starting out, I'd recommend repeating the activation step until it actually gels, and if not, try a different book. I believe it's important to get the gelling feeling soon on in, because it gives a confirmation, conscious and other than conscious that helps you.

3. I'd say get a sample test and use those to shape the "state your purpose" step. Also, if you're taking a test, I recommend using mindmaps. Look around on the internet for some help with that, or pick up Tony Buzan's book.

Hope that helps. If you have any questions in the future, don't be afraid to ask.

Re sample test... If your teacher has been teaching the subject for a few years.. get a copy of all the test s/he gave in the past, going back 5 years or more. It will give you an idea of what questions the teacher consistently asks. How much the test varies from year to year etc. What type of questions the teacher prefers answered in essay form and what type the teacher prefers to ask true or false on. It will provide excellent clues what areas you need to concentrate on because teacher like all human prefer to loop on areas they are expert on.

Search study resources on the forum for a mind map sites that explains mind mapping visually.

The activation stage would tell you how much more you need to do on the book. If you know the book then you're done this can be with one pass or 33 passes depending on number of pages and how much ground the book covers.
