Most of us who bought the system are glad we did. It has the added benefit of adding a structured way of learning the method. In particular getting into the accelerated learning state, which does not come easy for most people who have not experienced this in some form or another. The younger generation (ie those under 16 years) of age find this easier to achieve generally. Older generations for the most part need to learn it again and this is much easier with a tape to guide you.
There are 8 tapes and only listening to the tapes would take less than 5 hours however when you work with the tapes you are realisticly looking at 9 to 12 hours. When you listen and work with the tapes as instructed you'll find you'll you'll be able to put photoreading to the test on a daily basis and with practice it becomes second nature.
Another added benefit of the course you can contact LSC and speak to the coaches personally. They love it if you've done the course once right through before you contact them. 
Since you might feel stuck and just continuing with the course to the end makes it all clear. That way you can also clearly explain to them where you are stuck.
