Myself, I adore some hard rock, and heavy metal. Yes, the oddball 14 year old loves to learn and listen to "negative" music. Hahaha.

My favorite band would have to be Creed, with second fav. being actually Dave Matthews Band. I like Metallica's old stuff, along with all of Megadeth, and such.

To many this may seem off topic. No such thing, is this! This is seeing if there is a common relation between the kinds of music that people who have experienced PhotoReading, and are using it in their daily lives to learn, and learn, and learn!

I think it'd be interesting if there ends up being a similarity. Then again. . .every piece of research will need more than this.

But please, post! Every experiment must start somewhere.

Yeah i used to listen to hard rock too, like korn and such. Dont get their new ablum thouhgh its not like what it was! But yeah, now i switched to classical piano stuff, and soft rock, never pop! I need mellow music, its calming, heavy stuff makes me high. lol

My choice is piano music: anything composed by Claude Debussy and anything performed by Keith Jarrett would top any lists I made.

Im into the rock too.
My favorite band is Pillar (christian hard rock) and I also like Aerosmith.

If we are talking about other types, I like marches and classical. I especially like stuff written by Richard Danielpour, my band is playing an arrangement of his songs for our show this year.

My choice is the music from the 60s, 70s, and early 80s:

For a long time, I've loved listening to violin concertos while studying. It seems to put me in a state in which learning flows much easier. My favorite violinists are Midori and Sarah Chang. My favorite composers are Mozart and Bach.

I recently started playing violin after learning about how famous people of the past such as Einstein and Thomas Jefferson played when stuck on problems. I actually wanted to start learning violin earlier in life, so these stories of how the violin helped other people in the past really motivated me to go ahead and start taking lessons.

The Einstein Factor actually claims that when some people listened to Mozart for a while, their IQ points went up temporarily. Interesting I guess.

Ah, yes. Hard rock, metal, piano, and what seems like a lot of classical orchestra is so far a slight mix, it seems.

The only orchestra I really like a lot of the modern stuff. Back to the Future's soundtrack is great.

But more so, I'm a big fan of Jeremy Soule.

I also listen to the blues and Jazz channel around these parts, I head bang too, the best of two worlds...

Don't get me started on Creed or Korn or Limp Bizkit or Slipknot or Incubis or anything pop, because I have years upon years of "bad music" rants saved up. Sorry if you guys are fans, I just think it's horrible .

I listen to rap/rock (Check out 2 Skinnee J's or Phunk Junkies), some hardcore (Check out Sugar Ray BEFORE they sold out with junk like "Every Morning"...look for "American Pig" by Sugar Ray...you'll be nodding your head to the "man they sold out" lingo), and lots and lots of good punk (MxPx, Mustard Plug, NOFX, and yes, even Green Day).

But I do like Dave Mathews Band.

Top O' My lists are:

Tom Jones (best darn vocalist on God's Green Green Grass)

Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughn (any guitarist has to hear Stevie Ray play the acoustic version of "Testify")

Jose Feliciano (none of that soft stuff, listen for his guitar solos - any person who has touched a guitar will be in for quite a shock to hear the blind virtuoso play "Flight of the Bumblebee" because their head will explode in confusion as to the physical impossibilities displayed)

Dave Mathews (harder to play than it sounds)

Green Day (god I love Green Day)

Nirvana (*drool*)

So yeah, there's flaws in my tastes, but that's just my 2 cents, which are overpriced, indeed. =)

I like lots of music. My favorite artists are Silverchair, Radiohead, and Willy Porter. I also like things like Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Bob Marley, Trey Anastasio, Phish, Dave Matthews Band, and Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. I, too, like older Metallica (they used to be my favorite band).
