Personally I don't recommend using the holsyc Cd with photoreading. You make the purpose of the meditation Cd redundant using it that way. By using a CD intended for deep mediation for a job that requires alertness you are training your mind to work out of syc of it's natural states. Later if you want to use the CD for mediation alone you find you'll have difficulty with it since you trained your mind to stay higher using that particular soundtrack.

Research has shown that good thinking/learning occurs with beta and alpha wave predominantly present (occasionally some theta and delta since all brain wave patterns are always present to some degree).

If you want to train your mind to produce more alpha wave while learning use the alpha CD that comes with the holosyc package instead. While photoreading a alpha state is suffient. Going further into theta or delta is unwise while learning to photoread, since it becomes even more difficult to bring the information to the surface for conscious activation. Unless you have absolutely not problem remembering your dreams; I recommend staying out of the theta range. Even remembered dreams occur mostly in the alpha state. I get the impression that most learners of photoreading try to go too deep. They usually show more success with the dictionary game where they only lightly entered alpha and then proceed to worry about being in the "right state of mind and deep enough".

The concern for learning is only to be relaxed. To know you are relaxed notice a lack of tension in your body, deep even breathing. mind free from worries and tension. You notice that you feel at ease with the work that you have set before you and you close your eyes.

Guess what the moment you closed your eyes you produce more alpha wave and the relaxed feeling that you get from that... is all you need for then you are in an accelerative learning state.

Music only helps to stay there longer, without having to check yourself. Often when you use the same soundtrack over and over again it becomes a trigger to relax so selecting a piece you enjoy and repeatedly using that will help you to relax. When you find you need to use the PR process and don't have a player your memory for the music becomes the trigger. You just need to remember a few bars and it can take you into the state you want. With practice there will be something that you consistantly do to get into the accelerative learning state and you quickly reach a point where it takes only 30 seconds (or less) cause you just think about what you going to do and your mind gets you ready.

They are serious when they the say relax, play with it and see what happens.
