Okay it wasn't golfing, but a kendama. I was swinging the ball and trying to get the stick in the hole. Then I thought, Tangerine, and Modelling. So I placed the tangerine on and noticed a slight change in my posture and the very next try... clunk in it goes ever so smoothly.

So my question has anyone else tried the tangerine technique for a physical activity, like golfing or darts. I just seems like a natural to me. You want to model idea performance so you go into the proper mental state. Well why not go tangerine before launching trying to get into state? Just some thoughts.

I used a modified version of the tangerine technique to improve my shooting average from the penalty line in basketball. Instead of the tangerine, I imagine a burning candle. When I am about to shoot a ball, I close my eyes, take a deep breath, imagine a burning candle placed at the top back part of my head, then imagine a ball going through the hoop. Then I open my eyes and shoot. This doesn't work 100% of the time, but I saw my performance improve right away.

I also have noticed that a similar technique that is taught in various disciplines to improve posture also helps me in some of my physical activities. You imagine a string near the back of the top of your head. Imagine that it is pulling up and that your head is suspended from the string. When I do this, I am amazed at how quickly my posture and also the physical activity I am doing improves.
