Alex K: you seem to be responding to virtually every post in the forum. Are you by any chance...working with the photoreading sales team or something? Also, as i stated in my previous post i was fearful that the program would end up sitting in my closet. I said basically because i first saw this on TV (an infomercial), and that is never a good sign.

Alex is an excellent help, and is not working with learning strategies, nor are any of the other many posters who provide their insight on this message board.

There are three posters here that work for learning strategies:

1) Dana Hanson - he moderates the board, and has lots of good info.
2) Pete Bisonette - also provides lots of great info, and is the same person you saw on TV.
3) Paul Scheele - the main man.

Everybody else is a fellow PRer that just chooses to help out and spread the good word. Plus, we were all at the beginning at some point, and helping others along the way at a stage we were once struggling at is sometimes just plain fun.

(Although or LSC decided to pay us, I wouldn't exactly reject the offer ).

Thanks for your posts, Alex. They are very insightful and informative.

Also:

Sometimes infomercials sell good products, sometimes they don't. Almost any kitchen gadget on TV isn't so hot, but I had GREAT results from the Total Gym, and that Miracle Thaw thing actually works, albeit kind of annoying. The George Foreman grill is EXCELLENT, although cheaper versions of the same idea are on sale as well.

The photoreading system is a great buy, but I should warn you of a couple things:

1) You aren't READING at 25,000 wpm. You are PHOTOreading. After the couple minutes you spend photoreading the book (about 5 minutes), the rest of the time is spent ACTIVATING the book, which should take about 1/3 of the time you would have normally spent. This means a book that would have taken you 10 hours should take about 3, BUT it won't take you 5 minutes as you might think.
2) It takes time to learn, just like any skill. You'll get better with practice.
3) GET THE NEWS VIDEO. It's terrific, unbiased, and is very convincing. Best of all, it's FREE! . You can have the video sent to you here: http://www.learningstrategies.com/PhotoReading/Video.html (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED).

As Ramon has said I do not work for LSC... If you look at my profile (click on the glasses) you'll see that I am located in Australia whereas LSC is based in America. Also you'll notice that my email address is there because I do avail myself to answer any questions folks might have since not everyone feels comfortable posting questions on the forum.

I've never seen the infomercial that you've referred to. (Are they really a bad sign?)If as you say "that is never a good sign", you seem to be saying you've already made up your mind that the course is no good?

Ramon forgot to mention that
Sandy Millies & Shawn Grim are also moderators of these boards who represent LSC

You'll find the moderators providing gems of insight when the rest of the forum seems to be stumped in answering a question. Even providing us with personal insights from their personal experience with the courses provided by LSC from time to time.

Alex

Just one quick thing i would like to add real fast: It is not that i have already decided that the program is no good, it is simply that where i live, infomercials are on just about 24/7, and whenever I, or a soemoen i know buys a product off TV it sux (with a few exceptions). Now, i autimatically think that any product being sold off TV is a rip off, and the poeple on the show are simply lieing to the viewer. Also, on the infomercial i saw, Pete Bisonette sits down, opens a book, reads it through in like 1 minute, then is quized on the information a second later. As you can see, this is a very distorted image of what kind of results any photoreader should be expecting, and i viewed the program to be "too good to be true," now i am learning otherwise. Thanxx

A little skepticism is a worthwhile thing unless you use it to close every door of opportunity. Yep, I've seen informercials. Like all advertising they offer good products, overpriced products, products intended to make you feel better etc.

Interesting that you find Petes ability to PhotoRead and demonstration of it distorting. I guess anyone demonstrating their reading speed before others is always going to be met with skepticsim because it one of those things that has to be personally experienced to be believed.

Those of us who have successfully experienced it like see others gain the benefits we have.

The advice I would give to infomercials, is to find the best deals, and then investigate as througholy as you can. With PhotoReading, I always recommend for everyone to take advantage of the money back garentee.

There alot of good product that are sold on infomercial. I like it because infomercial give alot of detail about the product. If you don't like it then just return. There always a 30 day back guarantee. My best product is the total gym. Oh another thing is, if you really want to find out if something is real or fake, then the best thing to do is to TRY IT!
