I'm new to the board. And I was wondering with long winded books, and more arachic reading does PR help with this or do you have and understanding in the first place.
ex: when i read anything by H.P. Lovecraft his words cause me to slow down and back track. The main point I'm making is it possible to still imagine what is being written, or just bear with it and hope I can gain any understanding. I hope I didn't cause any confustion with this post. Any comments would be appraicated.

Yes, PR does help. It improves the understanding of the text, however it must be remembered that if you find the text difficult by regular reading you will still spend time in activating or gaining comprehension.

I think the closes example I personally can relate to is my experiment in reading in another language where by regular reading it took me about 2 hours to get through 40 pages of text and have perhaps 20% comprehension. By applying the Photoreading method I took 3 hours to get though the whole 264 page book and have at least a 70% comprehension.
