Hi all,

I just wanted to let you know of something VERY bizzare today. I've gotten back into PRing over the last few days and have gotten re-aquainted with the "preparing" state.

Today at the pool table (at work), on a whim...I tried the Tangerine Technique before taking my shot. I thought, "Sure...maybe it might help my game".

Much to my amazement, it was as if I were able to see an ever-so-faint shadow of a line from the cue ball to the object ball. Weird! But what the heck...I'll just line up my cue along the same line and take the shot.

It worked!

And it worked for the next several shots after that. I'm still not that good at "seeing the line" as it comes and goes, but I'm sure with enough practice at PRing (and at the pool table), it will get easier in time.

So, I highly advise you to take the Tangerine Technique seriously. Everything Paul tells you on the tapes and writes in the book about this technique is true. There really is something about this focus technique that is relevant.

The best athelets all have excellent peripheral vision. Softening the gaze is that only.

From finding objects to physical activity to problem solving to reading. When Paul mentioned the wizzard cap, i was so impressed.

Just wondering, how do you use the tangerine/peripheral vision to find objects? I once tried finding something with my defocused but did not manage to find what I was looking for.

I don't defocus my eyes. Peripheral vision is a soft gaze where you widen your vision by relaxing. Like seeing your hands when held out to the side.

State your purpose. I want to find.... I know i'll find .... Then just go or look wherever It doesn't make any sense in a conscious manner other than following the process.

Some where there is info on how using a soft gaze which is the same as widening your vision to be peripheral opens up more info to the brain which can communicate b/c the vision is not in a hard focus which increases tension and desire.

Paul says to state your purpose then get out of the way and let it happen. He says to use this for recalling names or info that is on the tip of your tongue. I think it goes like this: want it to happen; then get out of the way to let it happen. Not sure about the correct wording.

Thanks for your reply Margaret!
I'll follow that process next time I'm looking for something.

There is stuff on Night Walking, on the forum. Maybe not this one, but on one of the other LSC forums. From reading here and elsewhere on the web, one of the keys to Night Walking is opening the peripheral vision....
