I don't defocus my eyes. Peripheral vision is a soft gaze where you widen your vision by relaxing. Like seeing your hands when held out to the side.
State your purpose. I want to find.... I know i'll find .... Then just go or look wherever
It doesn't make any sense in a conscious manner other than following the process.
Some where there is info on how using a soft gaze which is the same as widening your vision to be peripheral opens up more info to the brain which can communicate b/c the vision is not in a hard focus which increases tension and desire.
Paul says to state your purpose then get out of the way and let it happen. He says to use this for recalling names or info that is on the tip of your tongue. I think it goes like this: want it to happen; then get out of the way to let it happen. Not sure about the correct wording.
