CodeWarrior,
Take it easy on yourself. Some folks are having trouble getting into the swing of it with the tapes. Book learning is one of the more difficult ways to learn and we must allow for the fact that it probably takes longer to learn that way for most people.
Play with the parts that do make sense and seem to work a bit and add the other parts of the method bit by bit. Give yourself breathing space. See yourself as successful for even giving it a go up to this point. While the system has 5 parts, Prepare, preview, Photoread, activate, and rapid read. You can learn them in any order. You might find that you have no problem with preview and photoreading. Rapid reading might come easier than superreadind and dipping so you're likely to do that after photoreading for a while until you're ready to experiment with the activation techniques again.
Notice what parts of the system you do seem to understand and give yourself credit for that. Keep playing with the parts that you can do and allow yourself to get ready for the activation part in your time. It usually becomes a lot easier when you don't push it.
