Now that school has started up again, it feels incredible. What feels like normal, or even very slow to me, I put down my pencil from a worksheet, look up and around the room...no one is finished.
I haven't felt this way since 5th grade. It's weird! I work through everything at what usually feels normal, but when I look up, people are barely half way!!
I PR all my worksheets, textbooks, and every single piece of text they give me. It's blazing fast. NOTE TO ALL PRER'S OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL: You are likely increasing every single day without even knowing it!
Why is this? It's natural. Your reading speed normally is probably way faster than when you were in 4th grade. Did you notice the increase? Probably not. With PR - you'll notice it slowly, and slowly.
Eventually - you'll feel like it increased exponentially. It's INSANE! We read a short story today in English. When I finished the story, and a few pages after it, I looked up and everyone was WAY behind. Taking notes, and doing vocab. is a sinch. All the teachers say, "I know you're not done yet, don't panic." I smile as I look at the paper I completed 5-10 minutes ago, keeping it secret.
I know it's just the beginning of the year, but I'd like to thank Dana, Pete, and Paul ESPECIALLY, for my likely future success, as well as Ramon, Magaret, Alex, and all those who have helped me and others.
ROCK AND ROLL!
All of this sounds similiar to the story Michael told a while back, "I was reading the t.v. guide menu, and my wife said 'Are you just skimming, or can you really read that fast?'"
To all beginners: keep at it, and be careful.
"I ran so far so fast, that pretty soon I was all by myself, which was a bad thing."
