I will try to keep it brief; something hard for a fiction writer. I appoligize in advance.
Until recently I was only able to focus with one eye at a time. But after 38 years of breathing almost ever day, and a divorce (lower stress lifestyle), and the first year with out any sign of TIAs (baby brain strokes) all of a sudden not only could I see out of both eyes but I couldn't turn one off to save my life. Great accept the vision was severly over-lapped even though the eyes are uniform in position. Anyhow five doctors and four pairs of glasses later I now have calm consistent 3-D vision. (Feels real weird to tell the truth, but good.)
So to try and get to the point, I have these very special glasses. And am perhaps too hesitant to purposely rock the boat as it were, trying to fight the perscription to diverge my eyes. I have tried anyhow with no zero luck. But I think the specs pull me back in. Rather thick they are. And viewing without them is a bloody mess. Not just doubled but very fuzzy indeed. (Stong astigmatizim.)
So unless I hear other recommendations from you I am proceeding down the magic X path.
But here is where I get confused, (this happens a lot, confussion that is,) I am using the Photoreading book by it's self (no course book). And I find page 48 rather vauge on the point of Xs and all. And so far my activations have been spotty at best. So;
Is this X best envissioned as clear or solid?
Is gazing at the center of the page and attempting to bring the corners into view best?
Or is envissioning the corners and joining into an X?
Or just gazing out to the white spaces of the four corners satisfactory?
Now as to this distance aspect; I found the discussion of cones and rods very interesting, rods being the retinas distance sensors.
My question though is; for Photofocus if i see the four corners of the page and the letters clearly am I off the yellow brick road?
Or should I gaze over the top of the book to a distance of a foot, a meter, as far as possible or perhaps just far enough that the letters become blurry?
Well, you're quite the trooper to tackle this lengthy disscourse let alone answer this soagy eyed soul. And whatever responce I receive I will truely be grateful for.
