Sorry if this is somewhat off topic. I was just looking around here for info on the NB course/book. When you mentioned having to learn perl/c I thought I'd suggest an alternative, python. I'm not sure what kind of work you are doing, if it's admin then you will need to learn some perl. But I've been wanting to do more programming for a long time and it wasn't till I found python that I actually did it. The philosophy is nice also. take care.
