Hi all,

i purchased the course material a few weeks ago, my reason is because i have a lot of technical books, and other enjoyable reading materials i would like to get through a lot faster, so i can spend more time with other things.

my experience, at first i was frustrated, didnt feel i was getting anything, i still am not sure if anything is happening, i seem to be listening to the tapes one day, a couple days later getting back into it, because i really want it to work, i am just not sure anything is happening, how will one know?

i have been reading some of the posts here, and see that there is a lot of practice involved.
q?: i can see the blip page, but am i supposed to be looking in the middle of the book as i turn the page or at the pages?

i enjoy reading, and i feel at this time i want to pick up PR faster so i can get through most of the books, but i am finding that the PR is taking some time away from me reading other books now.

how can i get ride of this frustration, i know the course teaches NOPS, but i would much rather not be frustrated with reading.

when i try to get into the relax state, i really dont like the idea of hypnosis, and i feel like that is what paul is taking me through and therefore i am upset.

i want this program to work for me, as i enjoy reading, but i am limited to how many i can get through.

i am only on tape 4, on side b, the activating stages, but i am not feeling the program.

help?

Follow the tapes right through. Notice what works and makes sense to you at the time and just keep going. The whole process is pulled together on the last couple of tapes. If you are doing the exercises as you go along you will find it makes sense when you complete the course. Remember you can listen to the tapes again to refine your skills.

Yes you keep looking in the middle of the book along the spine. Your intention is to see both pages at the same time without directly seeing the letters on the page.

Learning a new skill will always require some time and it is not unusal to make sacifices in the short term

The idea is to release the frustation, recognise it is there because you are learning a new skill and you haven't quite 'got it' yet. Try looking at it like learning a new game. At first we need to understand the rules then practice the techniques and then we play. Now that you've noticed that you're frustrated imagine how you would feel once you got it?

It's only a relaxed state that Paul is teaching you so that you can do it yourself. Your getting upset about it is plain proof that you cannot be hypnotised against your will. Why not listen to what Paul says without closing your eyes. Make a conscious decision whether you like the idea of being able to relax yourself any time any where. Ironically that is what Paul is teaching. However once you heard him go through it you can do it without listening to him for yourself. Most of use just find it easier to let someone else remember all the steps. Even if you bypass Pauls guidance altogether it will be helpful to you to be relaxed while you learn. So perhaps you might try the techniques from the book. Research has shown that the relaxed mind is better able to understand and respond proactively to information than a tense mind.

Yes the photoreading system makes it a whole lot easier

Like I said at the beginning... keep going with the tapes. It all comes together toward the end. Even though it feels like it's not working right now it probably is.

benmba,

Did you happen to try the first experimental challenge on side B of the first tape? I believe this is the one where we used the dictionary.

If you did this experiment. What were your results, experiences, feelings?

Don't worry about the "GAME"

I couldn't get any right the first time I tried it.... now after using the system for about 7 months I'm right maybe 60% of the time.

However I can read a book in about 1/3 of my normall time with the same level of understanding. To me thats great I can choose to spend my "SAVED" time studying or I can spent it playing, but thats a choice that my classmates don't have .
