Well i've finished up the first 6 tapes and have enjoyed the program so far. My mother hopes to return the program within a few days (i think 30 days is up in a week), so i just e-mailed info@learningstrategies.com to get a time extention. Anyway, i hope to finish up the last two tapes in the next few days. I've always been interested in learning a programming language, preferably C++, and am wondering if a book similar to C++ for dummies would be a good choice. It is non-fiction as Paul suggests, however it's more...numbery (excuse my making up of words) than most books. Would this choice work?

I am not sure I am understanding your post correctly. You are enjoying the course, you intend to complete it and benefit from it, you are asking LSC for an extension of the 30 day return guarantee so you'll have more time to profit from their course, and then you are going to return it to get a refund????

Hel, so what do you think is worse - spending couple of hundred dollars on something which is dubious, at best, or returning the package in case it doesn't do jack for you? You act surprised , as if the original poster is such a sinner...

I basically have to show my mom the results. Me enjoying the course doesn't mean it's benefiting, or working for me. But anyway, CAN I PR A PROGRAMMING BOOK AS MY FIRST BOOK?

This is a sad comment on the values and ethics of people today. What a terrific example his mother is setting for him!

Yeah, kid, get that extension & then be sure to send it back. While you're at it, see if you can buy some values too. Walmart?

Being a programmer myself, I've read many books on programming. I think first of all that you might want to start with a simpler language like C, before adding object oriented concepts. Another thing you might want to consider is that in order to truly learn anything useful from a programming book, you'd need to read it in front of a computer and work through the examples as the author gives them.

On the other hand if you already know a programming language and want to read a book to apply the language to something useful, you'd probably be able to photoread it to get the ideas and concepts you're looking for.

The course suggests finding a book that is short and relatively easy to read as the first book you photoread. The main reason for this was stated to be that you don't want to choose anything too difficult that you might get disappointing results from. Once you've been photoreading for a while and are more confident, the course states that you can choose any book you want.

2 things. 1: my mom doesn't think it works, this is the reason she wants to return it. If it works, she'd be just find with paying whatever the price would be. 2: I checked walmart, they were all out of values .

Well, if you really want to prove that it works---THEN FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE COURSE AND PHOTOREAD A BOOK OF AROUND 200 pages. Use some common sense in the book you choose. Choose a book that has a REAL possibility for succes to show your mother.

ARE YOU JUST FINE WITH YOUR MOTHER SENDING IT BACK AFTER YOU HAVE LEARNED IT?

You want some upscale values? Walmart's don't suit you? Try Brooks Brothers then.

Do the 5-steps as Paul tells you, and you'll see the results right away. Make sure you're doing all the techniques in each step, as they are branched out on the page 68 Mind Map.

You can.

But, it is better to start with a couple of simpler books initially.

If you have a book that would require 10 hours of regular-reading to comprehend it fully, you'll reach the "GEL" point within 2-3 hours with the PhotoReading system. The "GEL" point is where all the information in the entire book comes together, where you comprehend it fully.
