it saysin the book that you'll feel relaxed and alert which I dont (or atleast no more than I did before the t.t)

Laura chances are you there isn't much difference for you. If I remember correctly you are about 14. Well at this stage in your life you are more naturally relaxed than most adults for whom the book is aimed. You have a distinct advantage of being able to flow into it naturally. You'll find it beneficial if you can hold onto this ability. A lot of people learn to carry a lot of tension in their bodies and are so accustomed to it that when they use a technique like the tangerine they can notice a difference. The tension seems to start building round about the 17th year when we start comtemplating our working career. Learning to use the tangerine technique now will probably give you a distinct advantage later on.

No need to be hard on yourself. Just let it flow. Worrying about how different you are supposed to feel to how you do feel is counter productive. You're learning it as you go and each time you try it it gets a little easier.

Getting relaxed can just be an attitude. Self check. Got a glass of water? Check. Comfortable chair? Check. Got the book? Check. Worried about anything and can I drop the worry for now? Yes! Check. Do I have an idea what I want from this book? Check. Am I ready to enter the accelerative learning state? Yes then go for it!

Entering the Accelerated learning state and the tangerine technique are training for your mind to perform in a certain way. Much like the way you first learnt to tie shoe laces. First few times they were probably too loose (so you gave yourself extra practice learning to tie them). Then to compensate you probably knoted them too well. After a while though 90% of the time you manage to get it right, it now became nature. The tangerine technique and accelerated learning state become second nature too you don't need to feel much different, you just know that you're doing it.
