Thank you for the link. It's very worthwhile what they are trying to do there.

It took me around 8 months to get to this speed. My wife is upto 2200 wpm. Yes the program was very straight up and honest from the start. I feel it delivered what it promised.

Again this is not meant as a crack of photoreading and what it can or cannot do because I really don't know. However, the advertising makes tall claims which I think are not only absurd but obnoxious.

The system becomes more credible to me each time I hear an experience such as yours. It's great that the system worked for you and maybe I buy this program in the near future. However, as of now I am not sold on it yet.

The context in which I said the "no pain no gain", or the "real learning experience" was in regards to the claim made by PR advertising that speedreading was "painful" and "difficult" whereas PR is "natural" and can be learnt very quickly. From all the testimonies I have heard here it is clear that that is not the case. Hence, one of their selling points is not really true.

The typical consumer based on what the advertisement says would get the system, struggle with it for a couple of hours or days, realize it is NOT "natural" and NOT "easy to learn" and then give up.

Hope you understand what I am getting at.

Regards,

Joe

Photo-reading so far has given me an amazing learning process. I'm going to school for electrical engineering and in the past allot of people think I'm not a very smart guy and that I just get lucky when I pass a class. I tried very hard to learn stuff in the past and didn't. So for me it's made the impossible, possible. All of the components presented in the program have been very usefull. The reading part in the program wasn't the most important part to my learning to learn, All the other ideas in the program have quite effective at increasing comprehension, I do spend the same amount studying, if not more than my class mates but at least I make progress now, instead of not.

As far as loosing out on learning experience goes. I hate the formal education system. When I ask an instructor about something I don't know they don't want to help me out when I have an F going in their class. Once I understand the class and say raise my grade to a B then they'll help me out and answer my question.

Two things:

1) Don't muddy the waters. Do it for yourself; see the results. If you are unhappy, return it for a refund less S&H.

2) Use the system as we teach it, and you will find it a natural system. Shortcut the system and you will struggle.

How can you possibly say this w/o ever having tried the product! Talk about extreme. Einstein???? Right??? Have you ever read any of his stuff? Was he for the birds? Absurd, you say? I have received materialized vibuthi a few times in my life & count myself blessed. I have seen things in India that defy anything the Western world could dream up.

Where is your sense of vision, of adventure? Are you telling me that 2200 words a minute w/ decent comprehension is the best we can do? When we are divine beings w/ infinite capabilities to change night into day and day into night, doesn't PhRing's promises seem quite ordinary?

What exactly is atmic living anyway?

Patriot,
At least buy or borrow the book.

You sound more like a film critic than someone who is objective.

I think that maybe Patriot does sorta have a point. The way the system is promoted does lead to high expectations.
I can't do all the fancy stuff, but my reading speed has increased maybe at most by a factor of 2. That's not a million books a week but it's still twice as many as before!
It's like exercise. It shouldn't be promoted because you'll end up being Mr Universe but just cos you'll feel your own personal benefits, no matter how modest.
Yes, you get what you give, but that's not the same as having to do it the hard way. And at the end of the day trying PR's not gonna kill ya!

A film critic...nobody has told me that. Perhaps I will give it a shot. Granted I have not read the book and am making my assumptions about the program based on the experiences of individuals over here but how am I not being objective?

IMHO though the onus should be on Photoreading to back up the claims made on the infomercial. I am serious about checking this program out and have bought the Photoreading book(for $9.50 from half.com) and should have it in a couple of days. Will then be able to see how valid this thing is.

More to come once I go through program

Regards,

Joe

Once you get the basic steps down pat, you should easily see results right away.

I remember when I first started using PhotoReading back in college, 1992. Within the first week of using it, I noticed my study time was cut in half, and the material we covered in class came together so much easier. And that was almost 7 years before I came to work here.

You really have only benefit to look forward to.
