That is a common misconception. Many misinterpret the Bible because they interpret what they want to see without sticking to what it says or taking a few verses out of their respective contexts giving them meanings that they don't have. If you knew what I know about the Bible, you may have to burst in admiration about how extraordinary a book it is. But explaining it to someone predisposed against it, may be almost impossible; so I won't bother.
