Yes I was able to get the information immediately after photoreading. It was my immediate purpose and since it was such a short piece my mind did the processing while answering the comprehension questions. The whole process answering questions, photoreading waiting for pages to load took about 3 minutes.

It helps to keep your focus on photoreading to have the tangerine while photoreading. When I photoread I usually become aware of the back of my head if though not on a tangerine (yuck ) Whether it makes it more difficult to activate in your case I would say yes only because you are worried about it enough to ask. We don't always get all the steps for photoreading in place the first time round. When we discover we are not as effective it is up to us to find what step we are missing and to see how our results improve when we add the missing step. If it makes no difference then there is no need to use it. Not everyone will need to use all the steps 100% in order to be a successful photoreader.


Another thing is that i previewed my text book, i pulled trigger words, then i formed questions, and i superread and dip...i got all the answer to my questions. I skiped the PR step, by just previewing, i already know the important info. by the first pass, i know all the definitions of important words, then i went to rapid read, i got the whole chapter done in less than 30 munites. Does PR really have effects on how u going to get important info from books?

Yes the 3 minutes or so that you spend photoreading puts all the information from the book into the inner mind so that the conscious mind can pull up the information easier at a later date. If you skip the PR step you are relying on what your conscious mind picked up. This information is poorly stored in your short term memory. More effort has to be made remembering what you learnt... you may even find you need to rapid read the chapter again.

I still remember the test questions and answers to the reading test now. Since it is not important information (to me) I don't need to remember it. Can you remember the answers to the questions you formed without going back to your notes? That question alone should have triggered a pretty good recall of what you've learnt.

Since the material you referred to sounds like something you will be tested on at some point it would mean you want a better memory of it. The surface memory (conscious mind) is much more elusive than the inner mind memory.

Did you read the whole page? at the bottom there was a note that it has been found that most readers read 25% slower on the computer screen than on paper. That means your reading speed is probably closer to 200WPM or in other words you are an average reader. A good place to start
