gymosphere,
Try this when superreading and dipping... read the chapter heading and subheading... turn it into a couple of questions. If you know the answer move on. If you don't, then the answer is somewhere in the next paragraph. You'll probably find you're covering the trigger words this way too. Or you formed questions from your trigger words, open the book to roughly the area you inner mind indictes the answer might be... remember to check the table of content for the section of the book that may answer your questions... you'll be drawn to certain chapters. Trust it, you've already stored the information in your inner mind when you photoread it if you find yourself staring at a certain chapter in the index list go to that chapter... scan the headings and subheads... even if you don't get drawing in first time allow yourself to go back over it again. sometimes the recall or pin point comes after the superread... because you are travelling so fast over the words while superreading you might find yourself pulled back to dip.
Do I have instant recall after Photoreading? Occasionally, Usually I walk away after photoreading and just think what I think the book is about. Inwardly/sujectively I can often sense the book. One or two points might come up. For example I once PRed a book without previewing... and my postview was interupted. Later when I was thinking about the book while doing something else I realised exactly what the book was about. I was a bit annoyed that the title of the book was so decieving. When I activated the book I confirmed it wasn't about what the title indicated.
I have found if I hold questions in my mind while photoreading I am often drawn in for a quick read them. So yes answers seem to come instantly too. I do not rely on it I still activate by superreading and dipping.
The idea isn't that photoreading instantly provides recall of the book. Photoreading reduces the amount of time you need to get the information out of a book. I've found it possible to get all the information I want out of a 300 page book in 15 to 30 minutes. There are other books I will gladly spend more time with because they are so interesting. I can PR a web page and know if it provides the information that I am seeking on a topic. This allows me to view an average of 30 unique sites (less when I find a site or 2 worth digging deeper into
) on a topic in 2 hours.
Play with trusting the process. When you get a hit allow yourself to acknowledge it fully. Get excited about it. And the tricky part - pretend the misses didn't happen. I know that sounds weird but that how you get your inner mind and conscious mind working in harmony. Pretend that you sucessfully activate the book. That may mean you have to add more activation layers (remember I did 6 activation layers on a book that I normally had poor comphrension with all up it took me 3 hours to activate the book).
Also notice the first one or two activation layers seem to be difficult on a tricky subject or where your comprehension is normally poor. That's were you have to keep going stick with it the full 20 to 30 minutes if you only found one answer then its a good start. Do another 20 to 30 minute session of superreading and dipping.
Give it more time in the beginning. You're relearning your reading style and developing a new inner mind connection.
