I did experience this ecerytime i PR. I feel sleepy somewhere after flippinf and PR 200 pages. It happens everytime i PR, so i would jus go to bed, thinking that it may b the respond of my body...but do any of you experience it and is it normal?

Another question is about the incubation, is incubatiobn period positively correlated with the pages of material one PR?

I would like to make a praise to myself and LSC...the time i tried the dictionary game, i counldn't get any of it right. But after i completed the course and PR a total of few thousands of page, the day before yesterday i PR half of the dictionary and have my freind question me a word. I am not doing the same as what the tape taught, instead i have my friend look at a word and tell me the word. Before hs tell me the word, i cleared my thoughts of anything(since i have lots of words popping out and gone), then i heard his word, i closed my eyees and imagine i open the dictionary. Immediately in my imaginary dictionary, i see a place brighter than other places, so i identify the place n tell my friend. Amazingly, i hit it right! the word was there! i am so amazed, and continually tried a few more, got a hit of 50%!! well, not bad!!

Make sure you drink plenty of water when you do a lot of mental work like photoreading, studying, mind mapping. You might want to check this post for discussion on feeling tired.
http://www.learningstrategies.com/forum/ubb/Forum8/HTML/002576.html

An incubation period of at least 20 minutes allows you to relax and let your mind process the information... the longer (overnight) the more you are telling your body/mind that you are relaxed about the material. Once you've learned this relaxed approach of trusting the inner mind you can experience almost instant spontaneous activation from time to time.

However the whole process is training. The brain is a muscle and needs to be exercised. You cannot do weight training just once and expect to have muscles like body builder straight away. It's the same with the brain. You need to practice and build on your successes over time your optimal incubation period for certain material becomes shorter to almost instant. Other material you might still need to leave overnight.

Keep up the good work.

I had that problem too feeling a bit exhausted after photoreading until I stopped trying to see the blip page and instead just gaze the center and expand to the 4 corners. I wonder its the same?

By the way, I was the so called 'friend'. Scored a few direct hits myself while playing the 'lexicon' game.

Yeeseang, mayb i missed put some posts...what's the friend thing??

This is what i think of my experience of getting sleepy after PR...i think maybe my mind is not used to absorbing so much information in just a few minutes, that's why it is exhausted...now i am feeling okay after PR, i assume this as my brain has trained the muscle up..

I suggest you pull yourself back to alertness Make sure you have more of an Alpha/Beta alertness. I find that the theta level is too deep for effective activation and spontaneous activation. By storing it there during photoreading it becomes as difficult to recall information, just as it is to recall your dreams moments after being abruptly woken up.

When you say your affirmations prior to photoreading add one tell yourself something like. My mind will maintain a relaxed alertness while I am photoreading. This will help keep you in the optimum accelerative learning state which is alpha/beta. Deeper is not always better
