I have heard the goal setting study conducted at Harvard. The numbers I remember are a little different, but basically the same. The mathy in me can't help to point out that < 1% of 100 students is no one. You have the message of the study correct though. Set a goal if you want to achieve. Anthony Robbins gives one of the best descriptions for developing a plan for achieving, in Unlimited Power.

And if you want to knock yourself out I have a file with 1,250,000 digits of pi.
