Found this in a hard-core EEG book in the library (useful things, libraries).

"...what really determines the presence or absence of these waves [alpha] is not whether visual messages are or aren't coming into the brain, but whether or not we are attending to them...A simple way of securing this is to wear spectacles which will throw everything out of focus... With the field blurred , we have only to listen intently to a sound and the alpha waves begin, to cease again if we transfer our attention back to vision..."

Cool ey, this guy Adrian is one of daddies of EEG work, so he's pretty well respected.

So coming back to PR, does this mean then: that we maybe ought to play music while PRing, is trying to see the X really necessary? It certainly supports the use of chanting to keep the PR state. I don't know, but it's worth playing around with. What does everyone think?
