I suggest you first do the whole photoreading course right the way through. Once you get to tape 7 you'll understand the process. You'll be able to decide if you would rather manually activate a book during 1 - 2 hours, even partially. Since once you start activating them, some books might be fully gelled in 1 to 2 hours.

For developing spontaneous activation 3 to 10 books a day is what most people find comfortable and activation one of them per week. If you can handle just photoreading books 25 a day have fun with it

If you Photoread 10 books a day for per week and activate 1 or 2 per week you could have them activated in 3 months. It will probably be easier to decide your best course of action once you've done the course.
