gozel, you have a perfect attitude. Just do it all in layers. A layer is just that: a little here & a little there & eventually, usually sooner than expected, it gels.
Any amount of pressure to do something will put tension in the eyes and a tunnel vision experience and in PhRing that's doom.
For chess, using periphereal vision and relaxing techniques will enable you to make better moves spontaneously...BUT, you won't really know why or how. Don't be like me and start questioning the "why & how" stuff. Keep relaxing your vision to periphereal and you'll be pleasantly surprised. I now use periphereal vision all the time for finding things to solving problems. I even used a 12 volt torque gun the other night in the dark to screw in screws i couldn't see
Honest. It blew my mind when---w/o seeing them,-- i relaxed my vision & widened my gaze & the gun was right on them. I was just too lazy to walk all the way down to turn on the lights!!! It wasn't totally dark, but too dark to see the screws.
