Laura, Photoreading a language dictionary is hardly a waste of time. Once a day for a week or two and you'll probably notice the benefits and that is 10 minutes a day for most dictionaries. While you are photoreading you use photofocus and the chant to remain in the accelerative learning state... improving your photoreading skill. So its a win win situation.
No need to look for trigger word, just get into accelerative learning state and PR the book
