Forums IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ PhotoReading, Memory Optimizer OT - Anyone here like to party?

Well, it's hard to see the clear results right now, because no one has really said they don't like it. But my theory is that when comparing PhotoReaders to these stereotypical "book worms," PhotoReades, or just plain cooler learners who seek everything they can to learn, enjoy partying like that more than the normal "nerds" do. Not saying anyone's a nerd or even that being considered a nerd is a bad thing...but it's just...a vision in my head.

I know i got into PR cos i would like to do well and have a life at the same time.

Well, now I have to post. No, I'm not a partier, and never was when I was young. Or perhaps I should clarify this? I've never been a drinker, smoker, I've never done drugs (illegals). I had no problems getting into bars when I was underage - let's just say, as delicately as possible, that I "developed" early. Read, the bouncers couldn't get their eyes off my boobs long enough to look at my face - but there was no appeal for me to drink, never has. As for the big music and dancing, oh yeah, I was seriously into that - could dance non-stop for hours with a frenzied amount of energy - people would get exhausted just watching me dance. Conveniently, I had quite a few friends who loved dancing as much as I.

OTOH, I'm a bookworm. I've read tens of thousands of books in my life. Even now, I read an average of a hundred or more books a year - and I haven't quite mastered photoreading, so I'm not counting those in that total yet. Yeah, yeah, I need to practice more. I'm also a geek. Always have been. And dammit, I'm proud of it I was that freak in seventh grade reading Freud and university astronomy and physics textbooks.

So does this make or break your theory?

I've thought about posting, and for one reason or not haven't.

I would say the I am not what a teenager would call a "partier", not even when I was younger. I enjoy drinking, music and friends. However when I hear the word "party" I visualize overcrowd space and overbearingly loud music. This I do not like. So I think you can jot me down as one that does not party.

As for being a nerd. Hmmmm, I don't wear glasses, I like sports, I have friends. I did know the nerds by name and included amoung those I'd call friend. Geek it just a technology junky. I am nerd-like in that I love learning, I chose Physics when I went to university because I thought it was the hardest think to take (age/experience give perspective). As for being a bookworm. I never read for pleasure, until I got to university. Now, I read for pleasure virtually every day, and it ranks in my top ten enjoyable things to do.

Summing:
1) Partier: Probably NO
2) Nerd: Maybe (depending on your definition)
3) Bookworn: No, but definitely a reader.

BTW quib you knocked me off the fence. Also I keep saying your name as squib... too much HP I guess.

I don't think it makes or breaks my theory. If anything, closer to making it. There seems to be no correlation, or little, if any between the two subjects of PhotoReaders and people who loovveee to party.

Most of my friends are nerds.
- they accuse me of being one too.

I have been called a bookworm all my life.
- can never leave home without a book.

I loooove seeking out new ways of doing things, and I always have a lookout for ways to getting to the core of my being.
