I have a problem with the photofocus thing. I'm totally new with photoreading and everytime I want to practice it and use it I get interupted when I get to the photoreading step. When I have the book in front of me I'm relaxed and I see the blip thing and everything is fine but then when I start turning the pages I lose the focus and I start looking at the page instead, so the blip dissapears and so does my concentration...This is driving me mad because I really want to become good at PR but this is interrupting me everytime I try. Has anybody got any tips on how to prevent it? /Thanks

Just keep going... ignore the fact that you lost the blip page... keep saying the chant keep turning the pages in rhythm. NOPS

Personally I didn't worry to much about getting the blip page in the first place I concentrated on relaxing my focus... viewing both pages and used the imaginary X techniques... I still go back to that for the sake of it... Either way I have successfully photoread the books of my choice.

The easiest way to handle it... don't let it bother you... just keep going.

Do you achieve any clarity to the words in the photofocus state?

It is possible to achieve clarity of words during photoreading however we ignore this. When photoreading we are interested in putting all the information from the text into our inner mind. At this point we realise that we will have no conscious comprehension of the text. We pull the information into our conscious mind during the activation stage.

So if the text reamins blurry that is fine.

Then how do you know that the information is passing into the subconcious if the text is blurred? Is retention any good during the photofocus stage?

Have you ever noticed that even when you are not looking at something directly you still see it? If you stop to notice it is blurred to... you recognise where the chair is to walk around it, or pothole in the ground... even signs as you drive along are usually blurred but you know what they say.

We've been using this skill all our life without actually noticing it. The inner mind sees and processes all visual information for use and what we see in 'focus' is usually presented to us as a priority. One we turn our attention to what is blurry it quickly becomes focused.

I usually remove my glasses when I do the PhotoReading stage. If I consider the book important, I'll turn it upside-down, too.

It's not so much that blurry helps, so much as non-blurry might confuse the conscious mind into doing things that we don't want it to do. As those who post ads inside of bathroom stalls know, it is very hard to tell the conscious not to read something set before it.

Do you find that you take much in from the photofocus stage or does most of it come to you during activation?

Do you find that you can still enjoy fiction?
I'm trying to read the street lawyer by Grisham.

You take it all in during photofocus stage. Activation is ppulling the information from the inner mind to the conscious mind.

For fiction (for enjoyment0 I generally prefer to photoread and then rapid read after perhaps one optional activation pass.

Alex are you saying the objects we see with
our perpherial vision (soft focus) are stored in our minds with clarity and that focusing is only a function of the physical eye; that our other than consious mind sees everything in focus but we don't realise it because we are looking with our physical eyes?
