NLP == Neural Linguistic Programming

I notice several statements on the forum today, that say they are "slow" at learning this system (or in general). First I'd like to say "NO, you are not slow". Phew, that felt good.

I think people with this idea should think of PWMS as a skill like riding a bike. They are both skills you learn. They both have simple sets of instructions. The trick to learning them is in the doing them, not in reviewing the instructions. Both are skills that the brains develops New patterns for performing. I believe, that the more Confidence you have the faster you will acquire the skills.

My current diamond is understanding that Confidence is a Belief that you Will Succeed. Now, most people think of confidence as not being afraid of failing. This is corollary to my definition, but it has negative imagery and it not useful as an NLP tool.

Examining my own experience, I have long understood that confidence is a vital catalyst for success. Only recently did my understanding of confidence change. It changed from a desireable quality that one slow develops by accepting small (insignificant risks), to being a Belief.

I could ramble more on this but I'll spare you... at least for now.

Here is a semi-example of NLP for a Photoreading goal.

I see myself sitting at my desk, having closed a text I've just PR'ed. A smile creases my lips and my eyes sparkle as I lean forward and write down the solution to my problem I can now solve because of the material I've absorbed.

The elements of good NLP are:
1) Always state positive outcomes.
2) State them in the present tense.
3) Incorporate as many senses at you can.

The idea is that this creates in internal stress (problem) between your current reality and the your are imagining. Your brain then looks for ways to resolve this conflict.

Caveat: I've not studied NLP, just pick-up these points from parts of other courses.

OOOOps, AlexK just posted at the same time and said it too complex. He has probably read more about it than I have. He's right that this is not the place for it.

Feel free to ask me about NLP.

I'm a Master Practitioner.

Good luck, and...
