Hello

I'm very new to PhotoReading, but I've been lurking on this forum for a few weeks and I'm looking forward to discussing my PR experiences with you all, and learning about yours. Just for the record, I'm 33, from the south of England, and I'm a software developer.

I got my copy of the PWMS book at the weekend, and I have a question. The first page of the book gives you 3 steps - first, go through looking at headings and reading the paragraphs with Einstein on a bike. Second, go through again reading the paragraphs with Einstein jogging, and third, read all paragraphs with Einstein with a bulb over his head. Cool, no problem.

But...but...then what? It doesn't give you any more instructions after that and there's loads of the book that hasn't been read. Do I just read the book normally? Or do I take the plunge and try PhotoReading it? After hand-holding on page 1, it kinda leaves you high and dry!

So, what did everybody else (with only the book) do after the first 3 steps?

Now with only the book it come to pulling it all together and putting it into practice. Having read the book as instructed you will notice that there are 5 steps to photoreading.

Gab a book short on of about 200 pages that you would like to read and apply the steps. The Photoreading book now becomes your instuctor.

1 Prepare... With your book in hand try it and see. State your purpose, apply the tangerine, experiment with this technique.

2. Preview the selected book. Use the chapter on preview as a guide to this part of the process

3. Photoread. Again the book acts as a guide, play with the steps in gaining photofocus, entering the ideal state and when you're ready photoread the chosen book.

4. Activate After letting the book incubate overnight after photoreading. This is where you get to pull the information out from your inner mind to your conscious mind using the book as a trigger.

5. Rapid Read this step remains optional however on the first few books that you've activated (about 4 or more activation passes as a beginner) you might want to rapid read the book as well.

After playing with each of the steps for a bit, getting familiar with the techniques associated with each step you pull it all together. The best way to do that is to apply the five day test/plan on a few books.

Mostly play with it and see. Use the chapters to guide you in what to do with each step. Give yourself time to learn Remember to go easy on yourself, have fun with it.

Alex
