thanks alex.... what if i imagine a situation where i spontaneously activated some material that i photoread? it happened to me last week during a lab session and it felt both interesting, rewarding and good in general. If i understand correctly I can use and situation where i felt successful in general and not in a specific situation.

what i did not understand is when i should i use it for PR, that is in which process, is it when i am relaxed after stating my affirmations and before i begin to PR.

...and what is the course you mentioned that contains this technique. Is it by anthony robbins by any chance?

You can fire off the trigger just before opening your eyes and getting ready to photoread.(After entering the Accelerative Learning state). You can also fire it off when you are about to start activating a book. In fact try using it whenever you want to perform well when you think of it.

No, the triggers course had nothing to do with Anthony Robbins to my knowledge. I know that Altered States in NZ used to stock the course and it was provided in another course with a whole lot of other cd's I think you wind up with 36 CD for the price most of it is redundant.

Although not really related to PR, I thought I'd add this because it follows on from AlexK's comments earlier in this thread...

Something I'm very careful about thesedays is creating associations that I don't want. For example, today is turning into a very bad day for various reasons! I've got a lot of thoughts buzzing around my head today and they're not good. Thinking about these problems is making me slightly angry and annoyed. Now, I've got a new CD that I really want to listen to today, but I know that if I do I'll associate the music on this CD with these problems, and whenever I hear the CD again I'll get the feelings I've got now back again. These problems are only very short-term and I really don't want all this to come flooding back whenever I hear this CD. I really don't want to associate a CD that I like with something that makes me feel bad, so I'll put off listening to it for a couple of days.

It never occurred to me in the past to be aware of the associations that form in my mind. I like to think it's part of me becoming more aware of myself and my state of mind, allowing me to not get bogged down in negativity unnecessarily.

Sorry if that's blindingly obvious to you all, but it's something I'm glad I'm now aware of. Would this count as NOPS, by any chance?

Thanks phatboy for the input.

Its a good thing to keep in mind and well its not that obvoius to realise, especially when you do not know exactly how the brain works.

It could be Nops since you are noticing, and playing with it.

thanks

Yes, I think it would count as a NOPS.

You know, you can apply the trigger technique to pull yourself out of a downer state, get relaxed, if you haven't already created a positive trigger consider an incidental one that you might already have... e.g. listen to a CD that puts you on a high with it's associations and then listen to the new CD.

Alex
Noticed a typo... the correct copyright date of the book by Mann is 1987.. sorry about that.
